Flood the Nile!Date posted: January 31, 2017
Prior to the building of Aswan Dam, the Nile River would flood every year. The flood waters carried a thick, black silt that, upon being plowed into the ground, provided rich, fertile soil. It was only when those flood waters came that the ancient Egyptians could successfully grow their crops.
Just as the flood waters provided fertile ground for growth, each letter that is received by a child provides nourishes for their heart and mind. The encouragement that comes from simply receiving a letter is enough to fuel growth in their relationship with Jesus Christ, their engagement in school, interactions with family and friends, and decision making abilities.
For the month of February, WE CHALLENGE YOU to “Flood the Nile” with letters to your sponsored children. Whether it is three sentences or three pages, your words will bring life to these children’s lives. And don’t worry if you don’t know what to write. We’ve provided suggestions here.
It is our goal to receive 1,000 letters from sponsors to their children by the end of the month. We can only imagine the giggles, smiles and unbridled joy that will be spread with a mass delivery of letters.
You can send a letter in the following ways:
- Email your letter to firstname.lastname@example.org
- Drop your letter at the Healing Grace in Maadi or at KDEC.
- Login to the sponsorship portal and choose “send a message” next to your child’s name.
- Email your letter to email@example.com.
- Mail a letter to:
