Ministry UpdateDate posted: July 3, 2017
As Healing Grace moves to expand its vision and reach, not just within Egypt but in other countries as well, it is important to ensure the necessary structure and resources are in place to do so. Therefore, after several months of discussion, prayer, and counsel, the Healing Grace Board in the US and the team in Egypt unanimously have decided that Healing Grace should become an independent ministry that operates outside the structure of Kasr el Dobara Evangelical Church (KDEC). Pastor Sameh and his Executive Committee granted that request after much discussion, prayer and counsel of their own. They met with the Healing Grace team, blessed them, prayed for them, and released them to be a separate ministry.
June 13th, Healing Grace officially became member of the Evangelical Fellowship of Egypt, a division of the Protestant Churches of Egypt, as a ministry to operate under the fellowship’s guidance and umbrella. This is not a single church, but the overall governing body for all Christian Protestant Churches in Egypt. We believe that this change in oversight is not only necessary for Healing Grace at this time, but it also keeps the vision and direction of Healing Grace more in alignment with our overall purpose. We are blessed to have support and guidance by such a body.
While separation is always difficult, it was necessary for Healing Grace to do and was fully supported by the entire Egypt staff of Healing Grace and the Board of Directors of Healing Grace USA, as well as was supported by the churches who are most actively involved in the Healing Grace Ministry.
We want to assure you that this change is truly an administrative change and will in NO WAY affect the ministry that Healing Grace continues to do on a daily basis for the children and families of Upper Egypt. You will not see any changes in the operation of Healing Grace. We are committed to maintaining the same level of compassion, excellence and care for each child and their family that has been given since we began in 2006.
We are truly grateful for all the years spent working with KDEC. We pray that God continues to bless KDEC and use it in a mighty way to expand His kingdom and to continue to be a shining beacon of hope in spreading the good news in Egypt and the entire region. It has been an honor serving alongside such an impactful church.
We are grateful for all of the individuals, organizations and foundations that have supported Healing Grace over the last 10 years. We look forward to our continued partnership in the lives of the children and their families. We are also excited to as we look to expand Healing Grace Ministry into more countries and reaching more children and families for Christ in the coming years.
