Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed
AWANA is the only organization with fully integrated evangelism and discipleship programs for ages 6-18 that actively involves parents, church leaders and mentors. It involves 2-hour weekly clubs that appeal to churched and non-churched kids, leads them to trust Christ, and grows them in enduring faith and service to God.
“Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need
to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth.” – 2 Timothy 2:15
I never used to read the bible, but now I read it regularly. I also never used to participate in anything at the church, but now I almost participate in all activities. Not only this but now my siblings read the bible with me at home. My favorite time is when my teacher explains the bible verses during discipleship.
First, I would like to mention that we do not have church in our village (the nearest church is 40 minutes away from the village). The staff taught us about AWANA Club and we never used to go to the church. But because of AWANA Club I started going to the church every week even if it is too far away and the road is dangerous. From the 1st class I have learned a lot about the bible and its books. I have never known any of this information before. I am really happy that I am learning a lot of things about the bible. I wish I had started learning earlier. I used to lie all the time, I was never honest and my friends never believed me in anything. In AWANA Club I have learned to only say the truth and never to lie and now my friends trust me in all that I say.
I like discipleship because I learn bible verses. I get to know more about God and his word. I have also learned that Jesus died on the cross for me and my favorite verse is in Acts 16:31 “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.” It means that Lord Jesus died for me and I have to believe in him and trust that he saved me, not only this but to believe in him for the rest of my life. My life has changed a lot. I have learned how to cooperate and not to complain when I lose because we are all winners and if my friends lose in the game, I should not tell him negative words but I should encourage and support him. In AWANA Club, I do not only learn to memorize the bible verses but to understand and apply them in my daily life.
